This plate enables you to offset the butt hook to allow a much better and more comfortable cheek/eye to scope position minimizing neck stretch/strain to scope helping to achieve a better standing and seated position. Decreasing neck strain/stretch to scope will stop off balancing your standing shots by allowing the rifle weight to sit more in your central core, stretching to scope by a small amount transfers weight to the front of foot causing unbalanced shots.
